Finally, a much-awaited throwback that all maggi lovers have been waiting for. In the latest turn of events, the supreme court has given Nestle the nod of approval to restore its Maggi operations provided the new and all forthcoming samples would abide by the government designated three laboratories quality checks.
Being a management student has taught me a thing or two about brands and even through that experience it was little surprising for me to see a product, which has so deeply penetrated the market, puffing out in this manner. Maggi displayed immense brand awareness and so it fitted in aptly with all the marketing mix as an ideal product. so, I said to myself that this cannot be the end of the road for Maggie because it was not just a product, but a medium for our generation to stick to our childhoods. Cherishing those Maggi moments; with the evening cartoons in 6th standard, assembling graphite electrode operated heater to make maggi at the high school or even going for long walks to maggi tea point, chit-chating with friends till my MBA.
Earlier due to increased amount of lead in Maggi, it failed the regulatory lab tests which caused a great shift in the instant noodles market. Now with Maggi back in play, it would be interesting to notice the strategies coming out of its competitor’s quiver. Whatever be the case I am just relieved that now I get to eat some lovely lip-smacking vegetable noodles once again.
