This movie celebrates life like no other movie in recent times. Directed by Ridley Scott, this movie boasts of a heavy star cast who have all delivered exemplary performance, especially the immensely talented Matt Damon. The story focuses on those brave days of space exploration, peppered with enough wry wit and thrills to keep you entertained. But essentially, it is a nod to indomitable human will, initiative and the thirst to go where no man has gone before.
Matt plays a Botanist Mike Whitney who is chosen for a Mars mission along with 5 of his colleagues from NASA. Things go south and he is left stranded on the red planet to be on his own. Now begins the saga of grit and determination which gradually saw Mike(Matt Damon) grow potatoes out of the sewage disposal left at the base camp. This movie handles the subject very carefully and in a vibrant manner with some good music to define most iconic scenes throughout the movie.
Movie rating – 4.5/5
Verdict – A must watch, after all, it’s not every day you get to see such an able cast perform thoroughly to it’s potential as a result of which the movie stands out amidst the intergalactic chaos and hope prevails in the end!
